First JT9 contact on 6 meter
Last night I was watching a movie from the couch, meanwhile WSPR-ing on 6 meter (without any success) but suddenly I saw a another signal on the display, and yes, it was a JT9 signal sharing the same frequency on 6 meter. I did work YO5CFI from Romania with 5 watts into a vertical antenna. That's a nice birthday present and my first JT9-1 contact on 6 meter.
Watch this nice video. CT1JRZ has a great ham Youtube channel. I should listen more with upper side band, instead of FM.

65
Finally I made it. 65 years. Officially old age. 30 years ago or more people were at the end of their life. They add some years afterwards and then they died. But now… I am alive and kicking. Yep, I like all things I do in my life. I celebrate life because I love to be here on this planet. Enjoying the here and now, the most important thing. Especially the birthday pie.
I read some interesting news at QRP-er blog: TEN-TEC Introduces the Model 506 Rebel: an open-source QRP transceiver.

CME's
Yesterday I realized that my ears are incapable to pick up a weak signal from a S8 noise floor. That makes it difficult for weak CW or SSB signals. I use more and more digital modes like JT9-1 and JT65. They have no problem with a higher noise floor. Yesterday I spotted G7CNF on 20m with 10 mW. -24 dB. We can’t hear such signals with the human ear. Thanks to the increasing nowadays technology.

Waiting for Es
Nice video about Holland and The Netherlands. It’s good explanation about things I don’t know myself, really.
Well, radio activity is a bit low here. I am waiting for sporadic E, there were Es warnings for multihop propagations but I couldn't hear anything. I do have only a vertical antenna for 6 meter. Today I am WSPR-ing on 10 meter with 5 watts. First station who spotted me was LB9YE. 1412 km.

Blog widget
I use two browsers for the Internet. Chrome and Firefox. Why? I have different accounts and I don't have to log in all the time. But I noticed something strange. Firefox has updated my favourite blog widget, but Chrome didn't. I was reading Larry's blog about his QRP contact with Oman. But in Chrome that blog entry wasn't there. Only his old entry from 14 hours earlier. Hum, very strange. (yes, I did F5 my browser)

JT9 activity
I was very early this morning and I made my first qso with K1CF on 20 meter with JT9-1. It was 3:51 AM. There was enough activity that early in the morning, something I didn't expect. Also made a qso with UT3WW and RU3FW. The photo shows where I was heard this morning.
